About Jeffrey J. Walline

Jeffrey J. Walline, OD PhD is the Acting Dean at The Ohio State University College of Optometry. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry and his Master’s and PhD degrees from The Ohio State University College of Optometry. Dr. Walline has led several pediatric contact lens studies, and he is the Study Chair of the Bifocal Lenses In Nearsighted Kids (BLINK and BLINK2) Studies, a National Eye Institute (NEI)-sponsored study of soft multifocal contact lens myopia control, and Co-Chair of the Delaying the Onset of Nearsightedness Until Treatment (DONUT) Study, an NEI-sponsored planning grant to prepare an application for a study to determine whether low concentration atropine can delay myopia onset.

About Kristina Mihic

Dr. Kristina Mihic is an experienced optometrist with a diverse background in clinical practice, education, research, and professional development. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica in 2010, later transitioning into academia to teach and supervise students in contact lens fitting, refraction, and optometric practice at the same university. In 2015, she obtained a Master’s degree in Vision Science and Business (Optometry) from Aalen University, expanding her expertise in both clinical and commercial aspects of optometry. She then pursued a PhD in Orthokeratology at City, University of London, focusing on the effectiveness of this advanced vision correction method. Currently, Dr. Mihic is a fully qualified UK optometrist and works as a Specialist Optometrist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, where she specializes in pediatric optometry, the Special Educational Needs (SEN) clinic, and specialty contact lenses. Beyond clinical practice, she is dedicated to advancing optometry through leadership and education. As EAOO Manager, she contributes to the professional development of optometrists across Europe. She also played a key role in organizing the first OCCSEE conference and the Optometry Summer School in Croatia, creating valuable learning and networking opportunities for vision science professionals. Committed to clinical excellence, research, and education, Dr. Mihic continues to make significant contributions to optometry, helping shape the future of the profession and improve patient outcomes.
